FAQs
1. I like that red-coloured gemstone (Ruby) – looks beautiful! Can I wear it?
I would suggest not to wear Ruby (or any other gemstone) just because you like it. A gem can deliver adverse results if it does not suit you as per your horoscope. One should consult a knowledgeable astrologer to know which gem(s) he should wear. For more information on Gem Therapy, please refer to the following article.
2. Astrologer has suggested me to wear a Yellow Sapphire and Pearl. Can I wear any of them first as per my choice?
Whenever you’re suggested to wear two (or more) gemstones, the sequence in which they should be worn is important. The suitable order of wearing depends on the strength of planets, time period which you’re going through and several other factors. Proper sequence is significant to bring out the best from your horoscope.
3. Does online horoscope matching predict the result correctly?
The method of Kundli matching works quite well. But what online horoscope matching and most of the Astrologers do is only the “Guna Milan”. And the key thing to note is that Guna Milan is only 15% of the match making process and there are some other parameters which are much more important.
This brief but comprehensive article explains it all.
Horoscope Matching Vs. Guna Milaan
4. Is it strange I identify with my moon sign more than my sun sign?
Your personality is a combination of your Moon Sign, Sun Sign and the Ascendant (a term less known to people but is significant).
Sun mainly signifies your soul, ego, confidence, self-esteem. No doubt it does have a crucial role to play. But the way you think is your Moon. It’s your mind, emotions, how you feel. One can estimate the importance of Moon by the fact that out of the 9 planets, our great Rishis and Saints identified Moon as the base of Vedic Astrology. No wonder you identify with your Moon sign more.
5. Can I wear both – Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) and Emerald (Panna)?
While there is no such rule that a person can’t be wear both, the likelihood of the two suiting an individual is less as they are mutually inimical gemstones.
Myths and Misconceptions
1. A non-Manglik cannot marry a Manglik.
There are certain exceptions to the above point. Example: If the Mars of non-Manglik person is quite strong, the statement does not hold true.
Also, Manglik pooja is a solution to counter the effects in case the dosha isn’t of a high degree.
2. Debilitated (neech) planets are bad and weak.
Debilitated planets may be bad, may be weak, may be both, and may be neither.
Bad – Not in every scenario are debilitated planets bad. In many cases they can give positive results. Especially if they are receiving a “Neech Bhanga” (meaning cancellation of debilitation), they are capable of giving results better than even the exalted (uchcha) planets!
Weak – Not always. What if Mars is debilitated and the ascendant is Libra? In the 10th house can it be termed as weak? No way! I’ve taken Mars just as an example. There are many placements for other planets too where they are strong (at least not weak) even when debilitated.
3. Blue Sapphire (Neelam) should be tested before wearing.
This should be avoided at all costs unless you’re planning to put yourself at risk. A real gem has the capacity to do significant damage even during testing if it doesn’t suit you. The approach is suggested by astrologers who either don’t have sufficient astrological knowledge or are not confident of their skill. Your horoscope contains all the information required to determine which gems suit you (without any testing). The only thing you need to do is – consult the right astrologer. Here’s some more information on how to know if Neelam suits you.
