Gemstones, for ages, have been used as astrological remedies to better various aspects of an individual’s life. (There’s one for each of the 9 planets.) Who should wear which one(s) and on what basis? I thought of conducting a survey to find out why a person wears a particular gem. Is there any general rule or theory they are following, or every person has a different motive?
I surveyed about one gem at a time beginning with Pearl. I asked 40 random people wearing Pearl the reason they had put it on. 37 of them said that their astrologer had suggested it as they are short-tempered. “Wear Pearl if you are short-tempered; it helps to keep your mind cool and calm.” Yes, this is what most astrologers suggest their clients!
But surprisingly, this generalised theory isn’t correct. Contrary to the popular notion, wearing Pearl may actually make you more hot-headed than you already were.
Some Widespread Myths
Here are some other widespread beliefs or we can say myths which are not true.
1. If there is trouble or delay in the marriage of a girl, she should wear a Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj).
2. Wear Blue Sapphire (Neelam) to gain luck.
3. Wear Red Coral (Moonga) to boost courage or self-confidence.
4. Wear Hessonite (Gomedh) to counter the ill effects of Rahu during its time period.
5. If you face problems/losses in business, wear Emerald (Panna).
In fact, the result you get after wearing them may be the opposite of what you expected if worn without proper consultation.
Always remember- First and foremost thing before wearing any gemstone should be to ascertain that it suits you. Thereafter comes the reason you need the remedy for. For example: If the issue is extreme or short-temper – Emerald, Yellow Sapphire or Diamond may be the gem for you. It’s not that Pearl can’t be used for this purpose. But it all depends on your chart. It is never a good approach in Astrology to generalise anything.
Hope this has given you an insight to implementing Gem Therapy. Also, now you know how Pearl can be angry 🙂
