If you believe in astrology, you would have visited astrologers at least once in your lifetime. Even if you don’t believe, you may have visited them during a tough phase (if any) of your life in a hope to better the situation. Difficult phases can be related to anything – career, family, health, children, finances and the list goes on. Have you noticed that no matter what the problem, Saturn is the #1 planet on the astrologers’ list to talk about even though there are 8 others too? Why do they see this single planet as the root cause of all issues? Why do astrologers “love” Saturn so much?

The reason is our fear; fear of Saturn and this is what they take advantage of. They scare you saying that you are going through “Saturn/Shani dasha” or “Saadhe Saati” (seven and a half years of Saturn cycle). Of course Saturn is capable of creating havoc in one’s life. But the million dollar question is – does it harm everybody? As you would have guessed by now, the answer is NO! Instead Saturn, if favourable in your horoscope, has the power of taking you to great heights, and can give you more than you’ve ever imagined!

In astrology, each planet has its unique nature just like we humans do. Depending on the horoscope, a planet may be a “natural” malefic but a “functional” benefic to you and vice-versa. Confused by the last sentence? I’ll give you an example. In real life, suppose you know someone who’s a thug, cheats people, lies to them. But he considers you as his friend and always intends to do good to you. He is a natural malefic but to you he’s a functional benefic. On the other hand, there may be a person who, as an individual, is truthful, honest and has all the good qualities one can think of. But for some reason,  considers you as his enemy and intends to harm you. This person is a natural benefic but a functional malefic to you.

In other words, planets which are known to be gentle (Mercury/Moon/Venus/Jupiter) may be the ones causing problem in your life. While the ones which are naturally harsh in nature (Saturn/Mars/Rahu/Ketu/Sun) could be your friends, trying to protect you. A learned astrologer can very well identify from your horoscope which planets are good for you and which ones aren’t. So the next time you are being “scared” by an astrologer, make sure he’s doing it using the right planet 🙂

PS: A good astrologer will never try to frighten you. Rather he uses a positive approach towards solving the problems. So if your astrologer is among the ones who use the “Scare Using Saturn” methodology, it’s time to change.
